My day started in Coupvray, France where I was staying at the Disneyland Paris resort. (Disneyland Paris is a separate Blog) It is super easy to take a train from Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station to the Eiffel Tower Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel station. The Red RER starts and end at the Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station, so you can't get on the wrong one. It takes about an hour to ride the train from Disneyland to the Eiffel tower.

Since I was only going to be in Paris for one day, I purchased the Point to Point ticket Point-to-point ticket | RATP

The Eiffel Tower is in a park surrounded by a gate. After you go through a security check, you walk into a beautiful park and pond. The Eiffel Tower is in the center of the park. It was surreal to see it in person. There are a few souvenir shops and a couple places to get some snacks and coffee directly under the tower.

You can ride up the tower to the top. Purchase your ticket early so no waiting in line. (which can be very long at times.) or get a combination ticket that will also take you down the Seine River Cruise for dinner. https://www.viator.com/tours/Paris/Prestige-Dinner-Cruise-departing-from-the-Eiffel-Tower/d479-425783P1?pid=P00001255&uid=U00408814&mcid=58086&currency=USD

I had a wonderful lunch at a corner cafe next to the tower,

Brasserie de la tour eiffel (brasserietoureiffel.com) The food was good and the service was great. Sandwich with a glass of champagne.

HINT - Champagne is offered as a regular item in Paris.

My table was right next to the window and had a view of the Seine. It was a beautiful day and fun to people watch as they walked by.

TIP - You have to pay to use the Toilets in Paris. However, if you are a customer of the restaurant, the waiter will give you a coin to use and unlock

the door.

The cruise down the Seine was fun and you could see all the history statues and places like Noter Dame along the river. There were still some seats set up from the Olympics that ended about a week before I got there. Which meant most of the crowds were already gone by the time I was there.

There are a few ways to get around Paris, you can take a taxi (G7 App on your phone) Book your taxi online in Paris or elsewhere in France - G7 Taxis

and of course you can walk.

I walked for a while around the Seine to take in the history and the sites. There is a walkway and parks along the river. People sit and have lunch, read a book, or just lay down and relax. There are also playgrounds for kids.

I took a few pictures while walking around the city. It is a typical busy city with people and cars going in all directions. If you like the big cities, you will love Paris!

For dinner, I took at G7 Taxi to the Hard Rock Cafe Paris - Yep, I will find a Hard Rock any place I go! The Hard Rock Cafe theme is the same in all I have been to around the world. However, the design is always unique with different music and band memorabilia through each of them.

I always get a pin, shot glass, or some small souvenir from each one I find.

There is an RER and Metro station a couple blocks from the Hard Rock, "Auber" so after dinner, I went to the nearest RER station and purchased a ticket back to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station (Disneyland). There is a change to the RER going back, I believe because I returned from a different station and not the Eiffel tower station I came in on. Be sure you ask about any transfers when you get your ticket.

Paris was a beautiful historical city and it was amazing to see all the sites you hear about and see on television. If I were to go back, I would do a tour of at least a hop on and hop off bus, so I could get more detailed information about the city.

I continued my France vacation spending a couple days at Disneyland Paris.
